Date of Completion: January 2000 This 25,300 sq. ft. Public Safety Complex was designed to bring together Police, Fire and EMS staff into one facility allowing for shared use of support functions while still maintaining their autonomy. The public lobby and shared support facilities are located in the center of the building with police functions on the south end and fire & EMS on the north. The buildings structural system is cast in place concrete/steel frame with an exterior of brick veneer, cast stone and glass fiber reinforced panels. Contrary to modern day technology the Fire Chief elected to dry hoses “the old-fashioned way” which resulted in a tower that doubles for training and repelling drills, while also acting as a space marker for the facility.
